Tosin and George benched as Chelsea become first club to win every major European honour
Published: May 29, 2025
Chelsea made history on Wednesday night by becoming the first club to win all five major European trophies after a resounding 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final.
Despite playing key roles in Chelsea’s Conference League campaign, Tyrique George and Tosin Adarabioyo were named on the bench as the Blues sealed a comeback 4-1 win over Real Betis at the Estádio Municipal de Breslávia.
After Abde Ezzalzouli opened the scoring for the Spanish side, Chelsea responded in style with goals from Enzo Fernández, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moisés Caicedo to seal the win.
Adarabioyo, who arrived at Stamford Bridge on a free transfer from Fulham, enjoyed a solid debut campaign, playing an important role in helping Chelsea secure a top-four finish and qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
The 27-year-old Adarabioyo played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s crucial 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, a result that sealed a fourth-place finish in the Premier League.
Similarly, Tyrique George enjoyed a standout season, playing a key role in Chelsea’s run to the UEFA Conference League final.
With their Conference League triumph, Chelsea have become the first club to win each of the five major European trophies - Conference League, Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup, and Cup Winners’ Cup.
