Published: May 30, 2025
Chido Obi scored a brace as Manchester United secured a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong in a post-season friendly match at the Hong Kong stadium.
The Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent equalized for the Red Devils at the start of the second half after Juninho had given the Asian club the lead.
Five minutes into the second half, Obi, who replaced Rasmus Hojlund in the 46th minute, fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the box after receiving a pass from Manuel Ugarte.
With eight minutes to the end of the match, he headed home the winner following a pinpoint cross from Mason Mount.
Ayden Heaven, who joined in the winter window, also scored his debut goal, heading home a cross from Amad Diallo in the final minutes of the clash.
The goals are Obi's first for Manchester United's senior team, having made his debut in a 1–0 league defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 17-year-old joined Manchester United in the summer of 2024 after an impressive campaign with the Gunners youth teams.
The young forward scored 32 goals and provided three assists in 18 matches in the U18 Premier League in his final season at Arsenal.
