Who will win the race? Bologna, Torino join sweepstakes for Chelsea product on Nigeria's radar
Published: June 23, 2025
Chelsea academy product Faustino Anjorin is drawing significant attention from Bologna and Torino following his standout performances for Empoli during the 2024/25 season.
Anjorin, who made 22 league appearances for Empoli, registered two goals and three assists, helping the club maintain stability in the Italian top flight.
His dynamic displays have also placed him on the radar of Fiorentina and AS Roma as clubs look to bolster their midfield options this summer.
According to La Stampa via Pianetempoli, Torino have already initiated talks with Empoli and are reportedly ready to table an offer in the region of €9–10 million for the 23-year-old.
However, Empoli are holding out for a higher fee, believing Anjorin’s market value exceeds the current proposal.
It was reported that a deal could be reached if performance-related bonuses are added to the offer.
Born in England, Anjorin has represented the Young Lions at various youth levels but remains eligible to play for Nigeria, as he has yet to feature for the Three Lions’ senior team.
He is one of the dual-national players currently being monitored by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ahead of the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier campaign, Anjorin is open to switching international allegiance to Nigeria in a bid to prove himself on the global stage and boost his international career.
As the summer transfer window heats up, Anjorin’s next move could be pivotal—both for his club career and his international future.
