No going back: Bolton Wanderers loan out 2025 Flying Eagles invitee to Scunthorpe United

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that National League new boys Scunthorpe United have reached an agreement with EFL League One club Bolton Wanderers for the signing of 2025 Flying Eagles invitee Dubem Eze.

A product of the Chelsea academy, where he spent eight years, Eze will spend the entirety of the 2025-2026 season on loan at Scunthorpe United, who secured promotion to the fifth tier of English football last term via the playoffs.

An agreement is already in place between all parties, with the transfer expected to be completed next week.

Eze has yet to make his senior debut for Bolton Wanderers since his arrival at the club last summer, but he was an unused substitute in an EFL Trophy clash with Barrow in September 2024.

In search of first team opportunities, Eze enjoyed loan spells at non-league clubs Chorley and Halifax Town last season.

The 20-year-old was a key member of the Bolton B squad that won the Lancashire FA Senior Cup n April, starting in the showpiece against Burnley.

He has a bit of National League experience, having played in six matches during his loan spell at Halifax Town.

Apart from Chelsea, the exciting midfielder has also represented the academy teams of Derby County and Norwich City.

After choosing to represent Nigeria instead of England, Eze  was called up for the Flying Eagles' pre-tournament camp ahead of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations but missed the training in Katsina citing personal reasons.
