Galatasaray insider claims Napoli chief said 'they should get lost' during Osimhen talks

Galatasaray insider Uğur Karakullukçu has revealed details of the tense exchange between the Turkish club and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis during talks over a potential transfer for Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who had an outstanding season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, netting 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 matches, played a crucial role in helping the Yellow-Reds secure a domestic double.

His stellar performance fueled the club's desire to make his move permanent ahead of the new season.

Osimhen has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray, reportedly worth around €16 million per season, while the Turkish champions remain in talks with Napoli to find a solution for meeting his release clause.

However, negotiations with Napoli over the activation and payment structure of his release clause are also reportedly ongoing.

In quotes relayed by habersarikirmizi, Karakullukçu provided an explosive account of what allegedly transpired during talks between the two clubs.

"While Galatasaray's management was in Italy for the Osimhen talks, the Napoli president told the middleman on his boat, "Tell these guys I'm not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost," he stated.

"He's not actually saying, "Get lost," he's saying something more serious. I'm saying it politely. This is literally true."

Karakullukçu also criticized Galatasaray's management for giving the media overly optimistic updates about the deal despite such a blunt rejection.

"If you're face to face with such a man, why are you telling all the journalists, 'The last details are left. It's night, we waited so we could sleep'?" he questioned.

With the summer transfer window intensifying, Galatasaray remain hopeful of reaching a breakthrough, but the stance of De Laurentiis suggests a deal could be more complicated than initially expected.

The Turkish champions are eager to bolster their squad as they prepare to compete on multiple fronts, including the UEFA Champions League.
