Super Eagles striker Onuachu back on the grass after sitting out Trabzonspor's last friendly
Published: July 24, 2025
Paul Onuachu has returned to the training ground at Trabzonspor after recovering from an injury, marking a key step forward in his preparations for the upcoming Turkish Süper Lig season.
Trabzonspor have shared their latest training photos through official channels, with the Super Eagles striker pictured training individually.
Onuachu was a spectator during Trabzonspor’s most recent friendly against Persepolis, watching from the sidelines while undergoing a rehabilitation program.
During the Thursday session, the 31-year-old attacker was seen performing running drills under the supervision of a fitness coach and physiotherapist.
The training schedule has been specifically tailored by the technical team to ease the striker back to full match fitness without risk of re-injury.
Onuachu’s return is seen as a major boost to manager Fatih Tekke, who is shaping his side ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The towering striker, who rejoined Trabzonspor in the summer transfer window, is expected to play a central role in the team’s attack in the upcoming season.
Trabzonspor will continue their pre-season preparations at the Erzurum camp, where the team is expected to play additional friendlies and finalize tactical plans.
The Nigerian’s imminent recovery adds to the growing optimism around the club as Trabzonspor look to challenge for silverware in the 2025-26 campaign.
