Chelsea star Tosin will not hold talks with NFF or Super Eagles coach during Nigeria trip
Published: July 24, 2025
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo will not hold talks with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle during his visit to Nigeria.
The former Manchester City youth team skipper travelled to Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub, accompanied by his brother and agent, Gbolahan Adarabioyo.
Also part of the trip was their older sibling, Fisayo Adarabioyo, who previously received a call-up to a Nigeria Olympic national team training camp in December 2014.
Tosin is in Nigeria strictly for personal reasons, with no official meetings or discussions planned regarding his international future.
The former England youth international is among the dual-national players being courted by Eric Chelle ahead of the resumption of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
While Tosin has not closed the door on representing the Super Eagles, a final decision is yet to be made.
In a show of commitment to grassroots football development, Tosin used his time in Lagos to give back to the local football community by organising the Tosin Adarabioyo Youth Cup.
Competing in the youth tournament were 36 Lion FC, Mavilon FC, Seamoriow Football Academy and a Lagos State Football Association select side.
Tosin's visit comes on the heels of a successful debut season with Chelsea, during which he helped the Blues lift the Uefa Conference League and Fifa Club World Cup titles.
