Blackpool looking to sign former Golden Eaglets invitee on loan from Crystal Palace
Published: July 27, 2025
Blackpool are reportedly exploring a loan move for Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei ahead of the 2025–2026 League One campaign.
According to Football League World, citing The Sun's Alan Nixon, the Seasiders are keen to bring in the 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee before the season kicks off, with manager Steve Bruce understood to have approved the pursuit.
If the deal materialises, Ebiowei would become Blackpool’s second summer signing of Nigerian descent, following the arrival of Liverpool academy product Michael Ihiekwe, who penned a three-year deal earlier this month.
The 21-year-old forward, eligible to represent Nigeria, the Netherlands, and England has struggled to cement a place at Crystal Palace since joining from Derby County in 2022.
After signing a five-year deal with the Eagles, he has made just five senior appearances and has been loaned out to Hull City, RWD Molenbeek and Oxford United in search of playing time.
Ebiowei was notably left out of Palace’s recent pre-season matches against Millwall and Crawley Town, a strong indication that he is not in manager Oliver Glasner's plans for the upcoming campaign.
Across 32 appearances in the Football League, the talented attacker has recorded one goal and two assists.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have already finalised another loan departure, with Republic of Ireland U21 international Tayo Adaramola joining League One side Leyton Orient on a deal running until June 30, 2026.
