Ndidi in demand: Besiktas open talks with Leicester City over Super Eagles midfielder
Published: August 04, 2025
Beşiktaş have submitted a bid for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Süper Lig season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations are ongoing, with both clubs now in active discussions.
Ndidi, 28, has become a primary target for Beşiktaş following the exit of Gedson Fernandes to Spartak Moscow.
The Nigeria international, who has two years remaining on his current deal, may be allowed to leave Leicester following their recent relegation to the Championship.
Since his arrival from Belgian side Genk in 2017, Ndidi has made over 300 appearances for the Foxes and was instrumental in their FA Cup and Community Shield victories.
Known for his defensive awareness and ball-winning ability, the midfielder has been one of Leicester’s most consistent performers despite the club’s downturn in fortunes.
While Manchester United, Juventus, and Borussia Dortmund have all been linked with Ndidi in recent transfer windows, Beşiktaş are the first to make a formal approach.
The Turkish giants see Ndidi as a key addition to their midfield and are optimistic about finalising a deal.
However, personal terms are yet to be finalised, though talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with Beşiktaş optimistic of sealing a full agreement ahead of the Süper Lig's kickoff this weekend.
