Chelsea reveal 2025-2026 squad numbers for Tosin and George ahead of PL opener
Published: August 08, 2025
Ahead of their Premier League opener versus Crystal Palace, Chelsea have officially confirmed their squad numbers for the 2025-2026 season, with Nigerian-eligible pair Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George handed numbers.
Tosin, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Fulham on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, will retain the No. 4 shirt.
The 27-year-old centre-back, born in London to Nigerian parents, remains eligible for the Super Eagles despite representing England at youth level.
Off the pitch, Tosin strengthened ties with his Nigerian roots during a recent visit to Lagos.
He launched the Tosin Adarabioyo Youth Cup, met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Oba of Lagos, and received the African Illustrious Award for his contributions to football and youth development.
His performances and growing connection with Nigeria have fueled speculation about a potential switch to the Super Eagles.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old winger Tyrique George has been handed the No. 32 shirt, underlining his growing status within the first-team setup.
A product of Chelsea’s academy, George made the step up from the U21s during the 2024/25 season, delivering promising displays in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
George has been handed a squad number at Chelsea despite ongoing speculation over his future, with Borussia Dortmund among the clubs reportedly interested in securing his signature before the summer transfer window closes.
Last season, he registered eight goal involvements across 26 appearances for the first team.
