Chelsea beat AC Milan with Tosin and George's help, Flying Eagles star features for visitors
Published: August 10, 2025
Fifa Club World Cup champions Chelsea wrapped up their pre-season preparations in style with a 4-1 victory over Italian giants AC Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Tosin Adarabioyo was named in the starting XI, while Tyrique George came off the bench in the 73rd minute.
Samuel Chukwueze was an unused substitute for the visitors, while Nigeria U20 international Victor Eletu, fresh from signing a new deal with the Rossoneri, entered the fray in the 85th minute.
George’s appearance comes amid transfer speculation linking him with Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
Chukwueze's long-term future at the San Siro is uncertain, with clubs in La Liga, Serie A and the Premier League reportedly monitoring his situation.
Chelsea made a blistering start, opening the scoring in the fifth minute when Reece James' dangerous free-kick was deflected into the net by Coubis.
Three minutes later, in-form summer signing João Pedro doubled the advantage, and Cole Palmer went close to adding a third when his 20th-minute free-kick rattled the post.
Liam Delap converted from the spot to make it 3-0 after Estevão was brought down at the back post, but Youssouf Fofana reduced the deficit for Milan with 20 minutes left.
The hosts restored their three-goal cushion in the 89th minute through the former Ipswich Town forward
Chelsea now turn their attention to their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 17, while AC Milan face Bari in their first competitive game of the 2025-2026 season.
