Goalkeeper with caps for Nigeria's Golden Eaglets and England's Young Lions joins Jersey Bulls

Former Nigeria U17 international Daniel Jinadu has resumed his career after non-league side Jersey Bulls confirmed his signing just before kick-off in their season opener against Margate.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper was the Golden Eaglets’ first-choice shot-stopper at the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup in Brazil, starting three of the team's four matches.

Jinadu is also eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland, having spent 11 years in the country before moving to England with his parents in 2014.

Prior to pledging his international future to Nigeria, he earned caps for England's Young Lions at U15 and U16 level.

Jinadu has been without a club since leaving Welling United a year ago, but boasts an impressive CV, having progressed through the youth systems at Chelsea and West Ham United.

His senior career includes spells with Barnsley, Dartford, Margate, Maidenhead United, Dover Athletic and Chesham United.

While at Barnsley, he received five Championship matchday call-ups and was named on the bench for an FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town.

Jersey Bulls, who compete in the Isthmian League South East Division, drafted in Jinadu on Saturday as cover after first-choice goalkeeper Euan Van Der Vliet faced a late fitness test.
