Done deal: Chukwueze inherits squad number worn by Lookman after joining Fulham on loan
Published: September 01, 2025
Fulham have confirmed the signing of Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze on loan from AC Milan for the remainder of the 2025–2026 season, with an option to make the move permanent.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner links up with compatriots Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi at Craven Cottage after temporarily departing Milan, where he was directly involved in 14 goals across 70 appearances in all competitions.
Chukwueze will wear the number 19 shirt for the Cottagers, a squad number previously donned by fellow players of Nigerian descent Ademola Lookman and Sheyi Ojo, as well as Reiss Nelson, Rodrigo Muniz, Ivan Cavaleiro, Luciano Vietto, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Adel Taarabt and Mahamadou Diarra.
In his first words as a Fulham player, Chukwueze stated: "I’m so happy to be here. It’s an amazing club. It feels like home, because I have my people around me.
"I feel at home already, and I can’t wait to get started."
A left-footed winger, Chukwueze first rose to prominence with Nigeria's U17 side, winning the Bronze Boot at the 2015 World Cup before joining Villarreal in 2017.
During his six-year spell in Spain, he scored 37 goals and provided 29 assists in 207 games, helping the Yellow Submarine lift the 2021 UEFA Europa League.
