Former Arsenal striker lauds Chukwueze for brilliant assist in Fulham's loss to Bournemouth

Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith commended Samuel Chukwueze for his decisive impact in Fulham's 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night.

Chukwueze, who joined Fulham in the summer, made an immediate impression after being introduced in the 67th minute for Josh King.

Within three minutes of his arrival, the Nigeria international delivered a precise through ball to Ryan Sessegnon, who lifted his effort over goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic to hand Fulham the lead.

During Sky Sports commentary, Smith noted the quality of Chukwueze’s contribution, describing it as a moment that underlined the difference substitutes can make in a closely contested match.

He pointed out the winger's vision and execution, as well as Sessegnon's composed finish that capped off a devastating attacking move.

However, Fulham were unable to preserve their advantage and suffered their third defeat of the season.

Antoine Semenyo netted twice, while Justin Kluivert added a late goal to complete Bournemouth’s comeback and secure all three points for Andoni Iraola's team.

Despite the setback, Chukwueze’s performance provided encouragement as he continues to adapt to Premier League football after a testing spell in Serie A.

The 26-year-old will hope his display at the Vitality Stadium signals the start of a more consistent run of form as he aims to re-establish himself at the highest level.
