Published: December 20, 2015
Agents representing Victor Osimhen and Ultimate Strikers Lagos are demanding the sum of three million euros from Wolfsburg before rubber - stamping his move to the Bundesliga club when the striker attains the age of majority.
The European clubs that have launched a transfer bid for the Nigeria Under 17 international are not prepared to pay more than €1.5 million for the frontman, while the lowest bid received so far is in the region of €1.1 million.
But Ultimate Strikers are holding out for €3 million due to interest from a major club in Saudi Arabia, who intend to acquire Osimhen for that amount, then loan him out to a European team.
Victor Osimhen’s dad is presently recovering from an undisclosed ailment, so Pa Osimhen’s elder brother, Michael Osimhen, was contacted to provide an update on the transfer situation of the teenager.
“Gafar (36 Lion CEO) is not Victor’s legal guardian, Victor can’t have a legal guardian when his father is still alive , ” Michael Osimhen told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Gafar is not a Nigerian, how can he be his guardian, he is telling lies. We don’t want Victor to play in Germany . They said they will be back this week and we will continue discussions. Gafar took them to Germany, no other person.”
Michael Osimhen added : “They went to Germany without the father, they are on their own. Victor is not signing any contract because they traveled without his knowledge.
“The father said he will report Wolfsburg and the agents to Fifa if they sign any contract. It was only on Thursday we found out that they went to Germany.”
It is confirmed that 36 Lion CEO Liameed Olawale Gafar acquired ten percent of Victor Osimhen’s economic rights from Ultimate Strikers after paying six million Naira and he is hoping to recoup his investment by at least four folds when the player is sold.
The Nigeria Football Federation chiefs are closely monitoring developments in Germany as they don’t want any of the Golden Eaglets players to be exploited by unscrupulous agents.
