Leicester City Monitoring Nigeria Target Jason Akiotu,Dubbed The New Alaba

English Premier League leading Leicester City have handed a trial to the highly-rated Nigerian defender Jason Akiotu.
Leicester City’s coaching staff ran the rule over the the wing-back on Monday during the 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the U21 Premier League and he was also in action for the Foxes in their defeat to Chelsea last month.
The 18-year-old, who was born in London, has made a number of appearances for Crystal Palace’s Under 18 squad in the ongoing season as well as for the Development Squad.
Akiotu spent seven years with the academy team of the Eagles before he was offered his first professional contract in February 2016, a month before he celebrated his 18th birthday.
According to the defender, he models his game after Bayern Munich’s Austria star David Alaba, whose dad is Nigerian.
He is thought to be on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation and was invited to train with the Nigeria U17s in December 2014.
Leicester City have been linked with two other Nigerian players, Ahmed Musa(CSKA Moscow) and Nathaniel Oseni(Manchester City), in recent months.
