Croatia GK Subasic, Striker Mandzukic On World Cup Opener Vs Nigeria : We Are Ready
Published: June 12, 2018Two Croatia stars, striker Mario Mandžukić and goalkeeper Danijel Subašić , shared their thoughts and impressions on their World Cup opener against Nigeria before the start of their training session today.
The Monaco glovesman says he is ready to be in goal against the Super Eagles after playing second fiddle for about ten years, while the Juventus star is also eager to lead the frontline.
''It's very important for me to be here. I was the second or third goalkeeper for ten years, but now I'm number one and I'm really looking forward to playing with Nigeria,'' Subasic told reporters at Tuesday's press conference, including Sport Express Russia.
''Now for us the most important thing is to win in the first match. If it works out, then it will be easier.''
Mandžukić added : ''Today is only Tuesday, and the game on Saturday. We still do not know the starting lineup. I can say that I will be ready for the game with Nigeria.''
Nigeria and Croatia will face off at the Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad on June 16, 2018.
