'A good test for us' - Tottenham product Madueke ready to help PSV overcome Arsenal
Published: October 26, 2022Tottenham Hotspur academy product Nonso Madueke has revealed that he is ready to help PSV Eindhoven overcome Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League.
Madueke who just returned from an ankle injury that kept him out for three months says he is ready to start against the Gunners if selected by manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
PSV Eindhoven welcome the Gunners to the Philips Stadium for their UEFA Europa League matchday five encounter on Thursday, October 26th 2022.
"I am definitely ready. If the trainer sets me up, then I do my best. If I can play 90 minutes, I will. It depends on what the coach wants," Madueke was quoted as saying by Soccernews.
During last week's encounter with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London, the 20-year-old played 25 minutes and had his goal bound shot blocked.
Madueke was linked with a transfer move to former Premier League champions Leicester City in 2021 and he has now expressed his delight in playing against a top Premier League side.
"It's great to play against a top club, especially against a team that is doing so well in the Premier League. It's a good test for us. Hopefully we can get a result."
The England U21 star has played in two games, one in the UEFA Europa League and another in the Eredivisie, since making a return from his lengthy injury layoff.
