Report : Chelsea identify two potential alternatives to 'expensive' Super Eagles striker
Published: November 15, 2022Chelsea are reportedly combing the market for a proven goalscorer to strengthen their attack with Napoli's Victor Osimhen their top priority.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has failed to deliver since arriving from Barcelona in the summer with only three goals in twelve appearances while young Albania international Armando Broja is still learning the trade, netting just once in eighteen games so far this season.
According to 90min, Chelsea securing a deal for Osimhen won't be straightforward and he is expensive.
The Nigeria international has approximately two and a half years left on his contract with Napoli and his price tag has been set at a hefty 100 million euros.
In the event that the Blues fail to land Osimhen, they have put in place a Plan B.
Chelsea talent spotters have identified Brentford's Ivan Toney and Borussia Monchengladbach's Marcus Thuram as suitable alternatives to Osimhen if Napoli don't allow the Nigerian move on to pastures new.
Osimhen is Nigeria's all-time top scorer in the Italian topflight with 33 goals in 62 matches.
