'This is uncalled for and inhumane' - Osimhen expresses concern over treatment of Super Eagles by Libya

Victor Osimhen has condemned the treatment being meted out to the Super Eagles players by the Libyan authorities ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game tomorrow at the Benina Martyrs Stadium.
The poor treatment started when the Super Eagles' flight was redirected to a different city with team captain William Troost-Ekong claiming that the Libyan government had rescinded their approved landing in Benghazi.
Upon arrival at their next destination, the team weren't allowed admittance into the hotel, and the players were forced to sleep to see at the airport.
The precarious situation has now put tomorrow's fixture at stake, with the Super Eagles players not in a state to be involved at the moment.
Osimhen, who isn't with the team due to injury, has condemned the poor treatment that has been meted out to them and has called on authorities to come to their rescue.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, the 25-year-old wrote: "I am disappointed by the unfair treatment my brothers and coaches are facing at the Libya airport last night.
"Actions like this go against the spirit of sportsmanship. My support is with my team and I know they'll stay strong despite these obstacles.
"I call on CAF and other football bodies to intervene, as my teammates and officials are still stranded at the airport in Libya. This is uncalled for and inhumane. We stand together, together than ever."
Due to the situation, Troost-Ekong has stated that they have decided to boycott the fixture, but the Nigeria Football Federation has yet to issue an official statement regarding that.
There is also no update from the Confederation of African Football regarding the possibility of the match being played as scheduled or postponed as of yet.
