Arsenal set to hold talks with talented midfielder eyed by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle

Arsenal are set to hold discussions with talented teenager Ethan Nwaneri regarding a new long-term contract, following his impressive performances this season, according to BBC Sport.
The Hale End Academy graduate is a player of interest to Nigeria boss Eric Chelle and also on the radar of Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel, but the English Football Association are believed to be in pole position for his services as the attacking midfielder is provisionally cap-tied to his country of birth.
Although Nwaneri has not ruled out the possibility of playing for the three-time African champions, the Nigeria Football Federation have not yet made a formal approach.
The 18-year-old has been a key figure for the Gunners, making 31 appearances so far this season.
His current contract is set to expire at the end of next season, prompting the club to prioritize extending his deal.
Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta has made securing Nwaneri’s future a top priority.
While a formal contract offer has yet to be made, Arsenal are in contact with the player's representatives.
The new deal is expected to include a significant pay rise, reflecting Nwaneri's growing influence within the team and his status as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
Nwaneri's rise to prominence has come during a period when Arsenal's senior attacking players, including Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, have been sidelined due to injuries.
Despite Saka's return to fitness after a long injury layoff, Nwaneri has remained an important part of manager Mikel Arteta's plans, starting both of Arsenal’s recent Premier League matches.
However, the Arsenal youngster was an unused substitute in their convincing 3-0 victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday night in London.
