'Signed a new contract' – Igoh Ogbu addresses speculation about his future at Slavia Prague

Following a string of impressive performances for Slavia Prague, Igoh Ogbu has drawn interest from several clubs across Europe.

Slavia Prague fended off interest from Galatasaray and several French Ligue 1 clubs to tie Ogbu down to a new contract in May.

Despite signing a contract extension, valid until December 31, 2027, the central defender continues to be linked with a departure from Slavia Prague.

Slavia Prague boss Jindřich Trpišovský has not ruled out a summer exit for Ogbu, suggesting the defender could depart if Premier League sides like Nottingham Forest or Newcastle United come calling.

The former Lillestrøm man has seen his stock rise following three senior appearances for Nigeria this summer and is now ranked as the second most valuable player in the Czech Chance Liga.

Reacting to speculation about a potential move from Slavia Prague, Ogbu highlighted that he has already extended his stay with the club, and is focused on delivering for the Czech giants.

"I recently signed a new contract with Slavia Prague, which runs until 2027," Ogbu told Flashscore.

“For me, the future is now and it has already begun. My focus is fully on performing in the league and the Champions League. After that, we’ll see what the future holds.”

Slavia secured the Chance Liga title with four matches to spare, with Ogbu contributing two goals in 34 appearances across all competitions and wearing the captain's armband on multiple occasions.
