Wafcon winner who played for Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona set for Al Hilal move

Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al Hilal are set to announce the signing of Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala, following an agreement with Bay FC, according to The Athletic.
The 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations winner, who has played for elite clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barcelona, has arrived in Saudi Arabia and completed her medical ahead of the league’s transfer window closing.
Oshoala, 30, began her European career in the Women’s Super League (WSL) with Liverpool, where she showcased her raw pace and goal-scoring ability.
She quickly caught the eye of Arsenal, moving there the following year to join one of England’s most decorated women’s clubs.
At Arsenal, she developed into a complete forward, combining physicality, skill, and clinical finishing, earning recognition as one of Africa’s top talents.
Her performances in England paved the way for a move to Europe’s elite, joining Barcelona in January 2019.
Over five seasons with the Spanish giants, Oshoala won five consecutive Liga F titles and lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice, in 2021 and 2023.
At Barcelona, she became renowned for her intelligent movement, lethal finishing, and ability to perform on the biggest stages.
In January 2024, Oshoala moved to Bay FC in the NWSL, where she made 38 appearances.
She was listed as an excused absence for Bay FC’s match against Angel City, ahead of her transfer to Al Hilal.
Al Hilal will welcome a player with proven international experience and a history of success across three of the world’s most competitive women’s leagues.
