Nigerian goalkeeper-turned-defender signs new deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that talented Nigerian centre-back Elvis Elendu has signed a new contract with Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Elendu is among Wolves' new intake of scholars for the 2025-2026 season and has been fully promoted to the U18 squad.

The new agreement between the club and player will keep him at Wolves until at least the end of the 2026-2027 season.

The defender is highly rated by Wolves youth team coaches, having made 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League during his final season as a schoolboy.

He was an unused substitute in FA Youth Cup matches against Wimbledon and Everton last season.

Elendu began his career as a goalkeeper with Pro Soccer Youth in 2020, but a recommendation from club director John Anastasiou saw him transition to an outfield role, a decision that has paid off as he continues to make impressive strides.

He has been described as an athletic, aggressive and physical defender who excels in individual duels and possesses an exceptional understanding of the game.

After departing Pro Soccer Youth, Elendu joined Cambridge United on schoolboy terms in January 2023, before he was snapped up by Wolverhampton Wanderers the following year.
