Confirmed: Arsenal academy graduate Azeez returns to English football with Morecambe

With a statement on the official website, National League club Morecambe have announced the signing of Arsenal academy graduate Miguel Azeez, subject to international clearance.
The tri-national midfielder, who is eligible to represent the national teams of Nigeria, Spain and England, has returned to English football following spells at Atlético Baleares (Spain) and PAS Giannina (Greece).
Azeez is the second Nigerian player to join the Shrimps in the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of of former Manchester City and Norwich City youth teamer Daniel Ogwuru.
The Spanish-English-Nigerian player began his footballing journey with Arsenal at the age of five, rising through the ranks to make his professional debut in a Europa League clash Dundalk FC in December 2020.
Azeez received ten call ups for first team games during his time at Arsenal, including five in the Premier League.
In search of first team opportunities, he spent time on loan at Portsmouth, Unión Deportiva Ibiza and Wigan Athletic.
A midfielder with flair and the vision to unlock defences, he signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in 2019.
In his first words as a player of Morecambe, Azeez said: "If I could put the shirt on right now I would, we all have the same ambitions which is to excite the fans.
"We've been in a really tough situation and I feel like we all need to start enjoying our football again, including the fans."
For the 2025-2026 season, Azeez has been allocated the number 8 jersey at Morecambe.
